A Quick Guide to Washing Silk

WASH WITH CARE

Show your PJs some love with proper care! We recommend hand washing your silk pieces in cold water. It’s the gentlest way to ensure the integrity of delicate silk fibers.

If machine washing is a must, we highly recommend placing your items into a mesh laundry bag and washing on delicate cycle.

Some of our favorite detergents for delicate garments include The Laundress and Forever New.

TUMBLE OR AIR?

Air drying is the best for silk and other lightweight fabrics. Lay flat or on a drying rack.

To remove any wrinkles afterward, a quick steam will smooth your pieces out.

TAKE A BREAK FROM YOUR DRYER

Tumble dryers have a surprising carbon footprint. By switching from a dryer to air-drying, the average household could avoid creating half a tonne of CO2e a year.

Your clothes also love air drying! It helps maintain the fibers of all clothing and lessens wear and tear.
